***Shirokiya Island Fair***

Happy Hearts samplers will be available at Shirokiya, Ala Moana through Sunday, April 18.

If you were planning to order mochi for Mother’s Day, let me know. Space is filling up fast.

*happy hearts mochi is CLOSED saturday, Oct. 3*

We are participating in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk this morning! =) Thank you to everyone who placed orders for the PINK bentos, donated money to me & our team and to those who signed up to walk with us!!! =)

Happy Hearts Mochi will be open next on Tuesday, October 8, 2009. I’ll catch up on my calls & email tomorrow. Just a reminder, all mochi orders need to be pre-ordered and confirmed at least several days in advance. We are already taking holiday orders – get your calendars out-space is limited…

*peanut butter*

We’ve had a number of inquiries about our peanut butter, and rightly so — we are diligently following the news as it develops (including the FDA site and efood alert site). The chopped peanuts and peanut butter that we use for our peanut butter mochi have not been affected by the peanut product recall. You can be assured of the safety and quality of our ingredients for our peanut butter mochi as well as our other products.

happy*valentine’s

yes, we are currently taking orders for Valentine’s Day… it’s a saturday this year, so getting your order in early is highly recommend if your sweetheart loves mochi.
people have been inquiring about Girl’s Day as well (March 03)…yes, we are taking orders for that too. =)

Happy New Year!!! =)

Wow, the holidays whizzed by… Thank you to all who were patient with me — I missed a number of you… We were included in a mochi article in the December/January issue of Hawaiian Airlines HanaHou in-flight magazine. Somehow, it wasn’t mentioned that all our mochi is made to order (ideally with notice at least several days in advance) and the address listed is a pick-up location… Many apologies to customers who stopped by and weren’t able to obtain any.
Mahalo to customers who have stuck with me through 2008, despite the economy & soaring gas prices. I am very grateful to have met many wonderful people — looking forward to another year and meeting new Happy Hearts customers! May you have a prosperous 2009! =)

Saturday, November 15, 2008

Happy Hearts is participating in this year’s Family Fun Fair at Leeward Community College. This year, they’re having a farmer’s market section showcasing local products. There will also be food from LECC’s culinary arts program.

We are taking pre-orders (until thursday afternoon) for those of you who want something other than assorted 3-pks. ($9 each) or who want to specify specific flavors or flavor combinations. In addition to the regular flavors, kuri will be available, as well as the pumpkin haupia. Quantities are limited. Because we’ll be at Leeward, we will not be taking orders for mochi pick-ups at the mochi house that day.

Come and say ‘hi!’ Hope to see you there! =)

***Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table!!! =)

Pumpkin Haupia mochi is back again

Pumpkin Haupia Mochi

back by popular demand

One of our favorite things about autumn is pumpkin pie, so we’ve created mochi that tastes like it! Try our limited edition Pumpkin Haupia mochi, available through the end of November. Order it as a single flavor set or substitute it for another flavor in any of the bentos.

Shirokiya demo

Thank you to everyone who stopped by this morning! The response was overwhelming and we had not quite anticipated the demand for our mochi to be so high — and sold out before lunch! We will make sure to have more on hand next week tuesday, so please come again and say ‘hello!’ =) I will be bringing in a limited number of fresh samplers daily throughout the fair, so even if you can’t make it when we’re there on tuesday, they will be available for sale. For those of you who want to place orders for items other than the samplers, we can have them available for pick up at the mochi house. Mahalo for visiting our website & for supporting Happy Hearts!!! =)

re: *cancellations*

I understand that circumstances arise where someone is unable to pick-up their order. It helps if we are contacted as soon as they know they won’t be able to, so we can make other arrangements to enable others to enjoy the mochi I so painstakingly made. Happy Hearts has been fortunate to have so many wonderful customers that this is the first time in our ten plus years that someone has been a no-show. Auwe to Mrs. Debbie Shibata of #283-****. Honestly, I’m more hurt than anything else, as I went out of my way to make awesome party platters with lots of hand-picked strawberries and even a bento box for your graduate. Should you ever decide to place an order in the future, it will need to be paid for prior to your pick-up date.

Mahalo to everyone who purchased the extra mochi!!! I am SO relieved they found happy homes! =)

Happy Mother’s Day!!!

For all you procrastinators (that includes me…), I have a limited supply of kuri for kuri mochi this week, perfect for mother’s day. Emi’s mommy LOVES our kuri mochi – a whole candied chestnut with an and sprinkled with kinako. You can order them by themselves ($3/pc) or substitute them in any of the bento trays at no extra cost.
